Aware of its responsibilities related to the improvement of life quality in the community where it is located, FG/A firmly believes that the private social investment (psi) in education contributes to the improvement of civic life and to reduce social inequalities, a very important aspect in modern brazil. That is why, since 2008, fg/agro supports a children day-care center named “creche nave da saudade”.
Founded in march 1983, in the district of “Jardim Zara”, which is one of Ribeirão Preto municipality’s poorest boroughs, the institution provides social assistance and education to about 200 children with ages from two to ten that are in a situation of social risk. The support to its beneficiaries includes: food, basic care on hygiene and health, childhood education focused on the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten levels, and reinforcement classes for children in the elementary school. Moreover, the institution offers initiation classes in music and physical education, thus complementing the schooling and helping the children’s insertion into the mainstream community.
FG/A´s support to creche nave da saudade includes: food, basic care on hygiene and health, childhood education focused on the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten levels, and reinforcement classes for children in the elementary school. Besides that, fg/agro also helps to improve the institution’s basic infrastructure, thus creating an environment conducive for teaching and learning.
Since 2008, FG/A offers support to the day-care monthly expenses, assists on financial management and intermediates possible new sponsors. In 2009, a scholarship project was created aimed at rewarding the institution’s best students. The project’s objective is to offer scholarships in private schools located in the area, covering all grades of the elementary school. Moreover, it includes all the supporting structure (teaching materials, transportation, school uniforms and extracurricular activities) to help the students succeed academically. Currently, seven students receive fellowships: Pedro Alves de Souza, Ana Beatriz da Silva, Leonardo Bezerra, Lucas Gabriel Bispo Dornelles, Rodrigo Américo Gomes Neto, Melissa de Castro Mesquita, Rubia Gelfuso Nogueira and Lohainy Freitas dos Santos de Carvalho.
Besides that, since 2010 FG/A participate in the institution expansion project. Its acts monitoring the activities for improving the site infraestructure throught its own sources, and intermediated sources from third partsin order to improve the site infraestructure. That way, children, teachers and staff can practice their activities in a more suitable environment.
FG/A believes that by providing staff time and financial resources to this institution it contributes to the construction of a more equal society.
